The confidential relationship between a client and a psychotherapist is protected under Federal Confidentiality
Regulations and information cannot be disclosed without the written permission of the client or clients.
The relationship between a psychotherapist and children over the age of 14 is also confidential and protected
(See exceptions below.)
Exceptions include suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report to
the appropriate authorities immediately.
If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, the police as well as the intended victim,
if possible, will be notified.
If a client intends to harm him/herself, it may be necessary to take further measures without their permission,
to ensure their safety.
